Dr. Joey Broussard wins the Warren Alpert Distinguished Scholar Award

Congratulations to Dr. Broussard for winning the Warren Alpert Distinguished Scholar Award! Sensorimotor deficits commonly occur in neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorders and frequently coincide with cerebellar abnormalities. Yet, the exact connections between sensorimotor deficits and cerebellar abnormalities in these disorders are not fully understood. Dr. Broussard's proposed study will utilize advanced imaging, neural tracing, and molecular manipulation methods in mice to pinpoint and modify the cerebellar pathways responsible for a disrupted sensorimotor learning paradigm observed in mouse models of autism.
