Dr. Joey Broussard wins NARSAD Young Investigator Award

Congratulations to Dr. Joey Broussard for winning the NARSAD Young Investigator Award! Dr. Broussard's proposed study will elucidate the cerebellar circuit mechanisms for inhibiting reflexive responses to irrelevant stimuli during learning of a sensory-association task. The inability to inhibit impulsive responses to stimuli is a hallmark feature of ADHD and is a shared feature across several disorders including OCD and schizophrenia. This project will therefore directly interrogate circuits with a causal role in response inhibition, with the goal of finding ways to enhance this function in pre-clinical models of these disease states.
